I N T R O D U C T I O N
W E L C O M E and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Nese Djouma and I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, from London, UK. My journey in becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist emerged from having sought support and guidance myself. I realised, that many people go through different struggles and issues, finding it difficult to cope, and are hesitant to reach out, for various reasons. From my own life experiences, I embody empathy, with the awareness of others’ needs, and subsequently, use my experiences to help others. I believe it takes strength, to take that step, in seeking help and support, despite any misconceptions, that it may be seen as a weakness. There are trained professionals, like myself, who enjoy helping and seeing clients thrive.
Education/Experience/Theory
and Approach
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I have trained and completed Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, with the CPCAB.
Under the BACP ethical framework, it is paramount I continue seeking knowledge and education, thus, I attend regular continuing professional development events relevant to psychotherapy and counselling. This includes regular supervision, to ensure that I am practicing safely, and ethically, in delivering the best service to you as possible.
I offer a therapeutic experience, for individual clients and their needs. I believe that my clients are the experts of their own lives. I utilise techniques and key concepts, drawn from different approaches, including psychodynamic and person-centred, whilst creating a warm, empathic, nurturing and non-judgmental space.
With a background in Law, and the Corporate world, I have an understanding and insight of workplace dynamics and relationships, including trials, stresses and difficulties that it may entail. I understand the internal and external pressures people can put on themselves, which can lead to both unhelpful and damaging coping strategies.
My experience includes, working for NHS Talking Therapies and other agencies, such as, Mindworks UK and Place2Be, supporting adults, children and young people (CYP).
I have worked with clients, using art and other artistic mediums, such as, sand therapy, to help people explore and express their thoughts and emotions in a unique way. Art therapy offers an opportunity for creativity, which can help to express and explore emotions that may otherwise be difficult to put into words. It can be beneficial to a wide range of people, including young children.

Islamic Counselling
Islamic counselling is a form of “Faith Based” therapy that incorporates spirituality into the therapeutic process in line with Islamic understanding and perspective. Respectfully, Islamic counselling is available to Muslim clients, if they wish to choose so, which will address issues in line with their faith, whilst being conscious of fulfilling responsibilities, as a servant of Allah SWT (GOD).
